Daniel Fried: Bio

Daniel Fried is an assistant professor in the Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His research in natural language processing and machine learning focuses on enabling people and AI systems to communicate and collaborate on tasks such as writing code, using computers and the web, and reasoning. Previously, he was a postdoc at Meta AI and the University of Washington and completed a PhD at UC Berkeley. His research has been supported by an NSF CAREER Award, a Microsoft Faculty Fellowship, and an Okawa Research Award.
